Am watching Ozzes play SA playing South Africa cricket. Just spotted a pirate in the crowd. Only one , lonely Pirate and me. Both South African
WHERE ARE YOU, OZZIE PIRATES? SHAME ON YOU.

    • Keith says:

Sorry St Gnocchi: I don’t follow cricket. Welcome back, by the way!

    • Captain Birdseye says:

New glasses might help, St. Gnocchi. Isn’t the whole SA team a bunch of pirates?

      • Keith says:

It would have to be a telescope. Binoculars would be inappropriate for a pirate.

        • Captain Birdseye says:

Two pirates can use binoculars at the same time.

        • Keith says:

As long as they have their hooks on opposite hands.

        • Captain Birdseye says:

As well as opposite eye patches.

        • basicdesign says:

Keith, ‘telescope’ sounds somewhat defeatist: makes it look like you expect them to be too far to be seen with a mere monocular. Cheer up, there are some others on the same planet, ya know.

        • Keith says:

As someone with poor eyesight I can only speak from personal experience.

        • basicdesign says:

Gosh. Then telescope it will be. That makes for heavy boarding gear and no wonder you don’t follow cricket, telescopes can’t move quick enough for it. On the other hand it’s good gear for first far-off sightings… Any sign of FSM on other galaxies?

        • Keith says:

The FSM IS a galaxy. It is also an amoeba or a tree. “Its scales glisten in the bark of trees. Its roar is heard in the wind. And its forked tongue strikes like lightning.”
The FSM is omnipresent, omnibenevolent and omniebrius.

          Lolol
If this is not due to your getting high on booze or, er, alternative substances, then it can only be copied from somebody who either took a stiff whiff too much of fermented juice, tasted funny mushrooms, ate some interesting-looking flowers… or produced an inordinate amount of endogenous drugs.

        • basicdesign says:

could also be adapted from smone who had heavy mystic tendency AND unresolved parental issues.

        • basicdesign says:

The omniebrius points at some help from booze.

        • Keith says:

The bit in quotations is said by Merlin in the film “Excalibur”.

        • Captain Birdseye says:

For Merlin, it would be a sparkling mushroom wine.

        • basicdesign says:

Agree 100% with the mushroom wine diagnosis, definitely Merlin’s favourite. I didn’t know it was a sparkling one but that makes full sense, only I always saw it giggling. I suppose it fits as mental alliteration.

Likely even in the same town too. They just don’t know it yet.
