Where is the evidence?

Published April 7th, 2013 by Bobby Henderson

Here’s a video that has been making the rounds.   Richard Dawkins shows great patience in interviewing Creationist Wendy Wright.  I find it painful to watch but also fascinating.

  1. Daffy says:

“I just told you that the evidence was real”

“But if that evidence were REAL…”

“Why don’t you go look at the evidence”

“I HAVE looked at the evidence and it’s just pictures”

“No it’s not there are fossils demonstrating everything”

“We believe in a better society”

“So do I but that has nothing to do with the nature of REAL, TANGIBLE evidence”

    “But there is no evidence”

This is the definition of infinity.

    • Daffy says:

      Who’s on first?

    • Curtiss says:

Dawkins was unprepared for her easily expected questions. That is a shame. Just staying in control in front of these people doesn’t win the argument. How do you answer the question ‘what evidence is there for a evolution creating a new species?’ And if you don’t know the answer you should never have walked in with cameras rolling.

    30:48 – 31:03

“For example, a recessive gene in a person. Both parents may have brown eyes, and yet a child may have blue eyes, and that’s because there’s enough of the gene in their ancestors to have brought out the recessive gene.”

    “And that’s evidence AGAINST evolution?”

    • Keith says:

Wendy Wright is sufficient evidence for convergent evolution. I’m not convinced she is human so she must be something else (but then that is an argument based on incredulity).

    This almost looks like… noodles.

    It’s a sign!

  4. kubo says:

Why don’t he just ask: “Please, explain me everything you know about evolution.” And then correct every misunderstanding she believes to know about it.

  6. William says:

The problem with Dawkins and the “New Age Atheist movement” – you can not prove a negative. God does not exist, so why use science at all to try and prove it?

  7. Dave says:

Yes, William, this is he. Why do you ask?

  8. Fossegrimen says:

I don’t get how she can claim evolution excludes respect for humans.

The logical consequence of evolution / science would be that

‘yes, there is light in the universe and it is us’

which at least the way I think about the world means _more_ respect for humankind?
