Awkward Billboard is Awkward

Published May 22nd, 2011 by Bobby Henderson

Billboard placed in Greensboro, North Carolina after Rapture fails to show.

Does anyone know the story on this billboard? It almost looks like a moderate Christian group mocking the Rapture sect for their extreme views.

What I am wondering is this: when the world did not end, did it cause anyone to become more rational? Or will the Doomsdayers become stronger believers (as sometimes happens in cults) – and more importantly, do moderate Christians feel their interpretation of the bible has been validated?

There is no such thing as a “rational christian”. Or Moslem, Jew, Zoroastrian, Shinto, etc.

Once a person leaves the land of reason by professing not just a belief but an adoration for non-existent creatures there is no “reason” in their pointy little heads. The proper term for “religionist” is “insane.”

If the Christian god were named “Fred” and his believers gave blessings to Fred before each meal, before crossing door thresholds, beneath Fred’s ladders, and committed exorcisms against Fred’s adversaries then would you respect the person? Or would you avoid contact?

We must cease tippy-toeing around the institutionalized insanity of religionists. Their religion is not laudable, not believable, not rational and certainly doesn’t deserve tax exemptions. They are clinically insane. Stop being mealy-mouthed to assage the crazymotherfuckers.

Best Brief Review Collection? Is this an underwear catalogue?

For some reason this popped in my head in response to reading this post. Nothing ‘bad’ there but browsing at work may open the door to embarrassing discussions so apply caution.

If they were available in the ’50s and ’60s I bet Ed Wood would have made a film about them.

Surely Mr. Wood would (?) have made a film IN them, resulting in a “woody”.
