maybe Flying Spaghetti Monster translates poorly to japanese… and Touched images will resemble something like this. I mean, Muhamad cartoons are different all the time too.
Did I say that out loud?

Guillermo del Toro’s early work was a bit cluttered…

In the beginning, His Noodliness ruled the Earth with grace, alongside his brother, the Flying Ravioli Monster. But the Pasta-Packeted One was a jealous deity, and longed for power over his brother, and command of all the Earth and beasts. As punishment for his envy, the Flying Spaghetti Monster tore part of the holy pasta shell from his brother, revealing the malformed creature beneath, a product of his infinite jealousy…

Showing mercy, His Noodliness cast He Who Is Stuffed from the heavens. But he went not into the darkness, and forever floats the land, sowing destruction and enmity wherever his flaky coating carries him. It is he we should guard ourselves from. It is he the Japanese spotted.

    Here ends the lesson.

It’s our pasta lord from the old testament. When he was angry and vengeful, rather than he is now filled with love and sauce. May we all be blessed by his noodly appendage…

the picture clearly said hong kong in japanese, so it’s not technically the “japanese monster era” as you called it
