    Er…science is theory.

  2. Eric Corrigan says:

    “Darwin’s THEORY of evolution isn’t science.”

    Where were you when they were handing the brains out?

    I have no idea who this Rachel Maddow lady is, but surely she now qualifies as official Pastapostle status???

    @15-Half Nelson
    “Darwin’s THEORY of evolution isn’t science.”
    Only about 100,000 scientist would disagree. Go read a biology book.

    @ Half nelson,

    Please tell me you are kidding for the sake of the site. If not I guess we will have to school you up a little on what the word theory means in Scientific terms.

    re:Half Nelson.
    All science is THEORY!

    “why do people constantly keep trying to use the word science as though it is synonymous with evolution. Rachel did it in her little segment. Darwin’s THEORY of evolution isn’t science.”

    To me it’s not that big a deal, because virtually all of the scientific community agree with the theory of evolution. It’s like saying gravity isn’t science. Well, one day we may have a better idea of what it is or where it came from or why it’s so weak, and it is only a small part of physics which is only a part of science, but anyone who today adopts “intelligent falling” is just an idiot.

    You also capitalized the word “theory”, as if you were suckered by the creationist movement. A scientific theory is a theoretical framework that explains a phenomenon, and that withstands the evidence thrown against it. In the common vernacular, a theory is more like a fact.

  8. Bruce says:

    Yeah, Half-wit Nelson, and Newton’s THEORY of gravity isn’t science, either…
