Why sir do you dislike Christians so much

Published August 18th, 2007 by Bobby Henderson

Why sir do you dislike Christians so much that you would create a site willed with such sarcasm and spite? I appologize for all the “Christians” who have found their way onto your hate mail section of your page. Thier actions are not representations of Christ-like living. I mainly just want to know what it is that spurred your actions?

Note from Bobby: I don’t dislike Christians or the religion of Christianity. I dislike dogma and formalism. And I dislike that subset of Christians who push their beliefs on others. And especially those who do this in our schools and government, and then claim that’s not what they’re doing. We are not stupid.

It’s so much easier to believe in something you know isn’t real.
To find out what it really means to be a Christian requires some study of some very old books that require a bit a faith to believe.
Yet, deep inside our hearts want to believe in something, a FSM or Jesus, something.
I think we are all like little kids who want ice cream and mom says, “no, not till later.”
Very few are like “Okay, ice cream later is good.” and most of us are whiners and tantrum throwers who want it now! Some are even going to divise away to get it now regardless of what mom says.
I think a little prayer for some knowledge would be great for everyone.
Prayer does not require you become a Christian by the way.
“So if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God who gives generously without finding fault, and he will give it to them.” – James
So God is generous without finding fault?

“So much easier to believe in something you know isn’t real.”
Hold on, what? Its easier.. to believe.. when you know.. it isn’t realistic? That makes no sense whatsoever. I would never believe in anything that I know not to be realistic, I.E. why I’m an Atheist. Belief in the unrealistic is plain old stoooopit; I’m going to believe my car is invulnerable to concrete walls because I know that’s not true? That just doesnt work, I’m hoping that was a typo on your part.
Secondly, Prayer; “a devout petition to God,” – How will a petition to a God most, (assuming, perhaps wrongly, that this is a freethinkers/atheist/agnostic/nontheistic group of individuals) believe to be a foolish concept be useful in any way? Meditation, or inner reflection can be a very good thing, allowing people to reflect on themselves and the world around them, so by all means, everyone meditate! But begging the skyfairy for knowledge? Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhhhhh. Yagh.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is wonderful blog. A fantastic read. I will definitely be back.
