FSM on South Park

Published November 1st, 2006 by Bobby Henderson

Is the Flying Spaghetti Monster making an appearance on South Park tonight?

According to BoingBoing :

Tonight’s episode of South Park features the BoingBoing’s patron deity, The Flying Spaghetti Monster (PBUH), and Richard Dawkins.

Everyone should watch. Comedy Central, 10pm or 11pm, depending on where you live.

Rats, this is one of the annoyances of living in England. Can someone do non-American pastafarians a favour and illegally post a video of this in the internet? (It’s consistent with loose pirate morals, piracy.)

  2. Patrick says:

    This is too funny!
Since we Europeans practically invented organized religions (mostly to suppress other people), it is good to see, that someone takes these old myths ad absurdum.
Strange to se that some “Hate-mailers” did not get the irony…says a lot about ’em.
To compare sience to religion is strange itself…the have pretty different goals…sience at least tries to look for the truth ;-)
    So, go on with this!
    Hail FSM!

teacherman writes “In other words eliminating religion won’t solve all the world’s problems (as SOME atheists seem to think).”
I don’t think any atheist is so naivee as to believe that would solve all the world’s problems. However, it would certainly solve one of them.

  4. Malc says:

No, eliminating religion won’t solve every problem, but to quote from “The God Delusion” by Richard Dawkins, a World without religion would have: “… no suicide bombers, no 9/11, no 7/7, no Crusades, no witch-hunts, no Gunpowder plot, no Indian partition, no Isreali/Palestinian wars, no Serb/Croat/Muslim massacres, no persectuion of Jews, no Northern Ireland “troubles”, no “honour killings”, no shiny-suited bouffant-haired televangelists fleecing gullible people of their money, no Taliban, no public beheadings …”. That’s a World I’d like to see. Hopefully there are enough of us who realise that FSMism is as valid as any other religion in the World, and a World with little religion and pseudoscience in it may be in our futures, but I sadly doubt it.
