    Hi Batman :))
    Was watching a couple of Ted Haggard clips today which bought our earlier conversation to mind.
    @Batman Apr 2nd, 2007 at 10:47 pm
    “I just feel so very sorry for him. His whole life must be lived in fear… I can’t imagine what that must be like. Makes me realize how lucky I am… at least I am free to be who I really am, and I know that my friends and most of my family are around because of that. You know?”
    .
    Just revisiting a partial discussion we started having previously
    I’ve just been viewing some more Ted Haggard footage.
    While that was my initial feeling towards this man, Once again I’m convinced that
    this guy would say anything to put the blame for his deceitful conduct onto anyone but himself.
    At one stage he actually blamed his actions on his wife for not giving him enough sex!
    She obviously didn’t really understand him :) I also wonder how much she
    guessed,and then continued to cover for him due to the anticipated reactions of the congregation should his actions be known to them? I also wonder how much covering up she did on his behalf hoping he would pull his head in and stop making such a sleaze of himself lest his secret be revealed?
    .
    Still since she was no doubt part of his snake oil sales empire, you have to wonder how good her principles and sincerity really are as well. Her puritanical reputation rested with his own.
    The lies she would have had to swallow to help cover him if she were aware :(
    She must have prayed more than anyone on the planet that that he would change.
    Not only to avoid the embarrassment but, there would have been the monetary consideration as well.
    .
    But then the fundies do have a lot of faith don’t they. Their lord “works in mysterious ways after” all :)
    Apologies but this guy just makes me angry every time I see an interview with him these days!
    On a less serious note,nothing is sacred when it comes to humour. (This was the reason I remembered those posts :)

    @Red and Booty
    Hugdaddy/Hogdaddy represents the diversity and colour of our little community…we can celebrate him while we abuse him mercilessly…I don’t get period pains or bad hair (too short) I guess I’m a bit of a “Bull Dyke” wench…happy to discuss beer!!!
    *
    That’s ok Wench Thumper,do you like belgian beer, some of those are supposed to be extremely good (afraid I don’t drink myself). I guess in your case a bad hair day would be waking up to discover some more of it gone ;)

  7. 687 Wench Nikkiee Apr 6th, 2007 at 12:33 am

    Hi Red DutchPasta Kidd
    Do you know why some sentences in a post sometimes get cut short and go onto the next line?

  8. 688 Red DutchPasta Kidd Apr 6th, 2007 at 1:12 am

    Uhm, no. I guess it has to do with the allowed length of the line. Some words are just to big to fit and the entire word gets moved. Or you just hit return instead of spacebar…
    .
    Ps loved the monthy python version ;)

    Has anyone seen the Conservapedia entry on Pastor Ted?
    http://www.conservapedia.com/Ted_Haggard
    .
    I loved the last bit:
    .
    (emphasis mine)
    …”On February 6, 2007, Tim Ralph, one of four ministers who oversaw three weeks of intensive counseling for Haggard, stated that Haggard “is completely heterosexual.”
    .
    Ralph later said he meant to say that therapy “gave Ted the tools to help to embrace his heterosexual side.”
    .
    That’s the kind of therapy that got him in trouble in the first place =)

    I might be converting to christianity.

  13. 693 DutchPastaGuy Apr 8th, 2007 at 1:36 pm

    @hungdaddy
    Care to tell us why? And what your beliefs up to now were?

    @DPG - don’t waste your concern my friend - I’m guessing the Hungdaddy was playing on the Pastor Ted and tools post I made the other day :) Also slightly worried that I seem to understand the little bugger :))

    ****NEWS FLASH*****NEWS FLASH*****NEWS FLASH***** (etc)
    The body of a 14 year old boy has been discovered on Clapham Common! Preliminary forensic analysis suggests death by crayon poisoning……………
    .
    Dr Ivor Biggun, forensic pathologist said;
    “In all my 76 years as a forensic pathologist I can honestly say that I’ve never before seen a case like this!” Every orifice! Every single one!”
    .
    An obviously distraught Dr Biggun added:
    “At least thirty ‘Crayola’ wax crayons were inserted sideways into each orifice. All of them blue! He never stood a chance!
    .
    Detective Inspector Kipper stated that the case highlights the dangers of “crayon huffing” and that all young people should think twice before engaging in this lethal craze.
    .
    On a lighter note, Tony Blair, former British Premier, was executed today for his part in the infamous “Forest Gump Fish Frenzy”. He remained resolute to the last, insisting that the fish really did have weapons of mass destruction.
    His head will be displayed on traitors gate until the end of June - Viewing fees £10 Adults and £5 for the unwaged.

    I had nothing to do with the crayons!
    I know what you’re thinking, you are wrong! :)

    hahahahaha Peter - Always knew you were a felt tip pen man :))

    I know I might get criticised for feeding the trolls :) but I don’t mind Hungdaddy - he’s not remotely offensive IMHO - He’s about as funny as the clap but not offensive in the slightest :) At least he keeps a few of us off the street.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
