Ok… had much better luck with clicking on your name.
    .
Sick, eh, about the whole Ted Haggard thing. Poor guy… so now’s he “convinced” that he is completely heterosexual. Hmmm… wonder how long that will last? And how much crappier it will feel for him and his family when this latest laying on of hands demon out-casting fails to work.
    .
I have to admit, though, that I am reluctantly impressed by this guy’s dogged determination to remain true to his faith, even though his church and his community have failed him miserably. I mean, he must really REALLY want to believe in God, which makes me think he must really think that God is a good influence, despite his personal issues. That kind of ability to see good in a situation has gotta be worth something. Maybe. I think they’re all bug-nutters, myself, but meh… whatever floats their boats.

When he was first outed I had a little sympathy for him, but after seeing some of his smarmy interviews since then, (and his constant lying) I’ve lost that now.

Wench Thumper. So nice to see all of you in a twenty four hour period.

I find it hard tht some of these people actually believe in anything they preach.
Seems to me they just don’t want the product they sell to be tainted by having a disgraced pastor around !!!
    Blagh!!

    @Sheba & Wench Nikkiee
I haven’t seen many of his interviews or anything like that. He may be smarmy, and rather slimy even… but it still is sad to see a man live his whole life based on a lie. I can’t defend him at all, being not entirely familiar with his situation. I will not defend his religion, since any religion is pretty much against all the things that I believe in. But, for Ted himself… he may be lying, and he may be trying to get back in good with the God-folk… but imagine how scary it must be to live your whole life based on one idea and for the acceptance of this one group, only to know that you will be cast out if your real-life is revealed.
    .
I don’t know, I’m rambling. I just feel so very sorry for him. His whole life must be lived in fear… I can’t imagine what that must be like. Makes me realize how lucky I am… at least I am free to be who I really am, and I know that my friends and most of my family are around because of that. You know?

    .
Completely agree with you Batman. It is sad to see someone live their life based on lies.
His whole life, including his family and friends were no doubt based around that church.
I fear him and his family will be ostracized for some time to come in the near future, no matter where they move to.
I especially feel sorry for his kids. It is very sad indeed!!
Have you signed the letter to Ted?

    No you’re not.
“how scary it must be to live your whole life based on one idea and for the acceptance of this one group, only to know that you will be cast out if your real-life is revealed.”
    .
Yeah Batman it would be scary.
I also agree with Sailer…I tend feel most sorry for the kids, they’ll have to grow up surrounded by the whispers :((

    RAmen to you both

    .
    Thumper
Are you a wench or a wabbit…or perhaps a wenchy wabbit?
Innocent Bystander’s amazing powers of observation and obvious high IQ are confusing me. :(
Maybe you are a seeing eye wabbit and could help poor innocent bystander cope with its bad eyesight and comprehension abilities? Or do you think it’s maybe not nice (no fun) to ruin its delusion?
    ROFL :))
    Woof

I’m assuming that by refering to me as one of the “Wenches” you were seeking to insult me…strange…is it me you’re insulting or the wenches??? Personally I find the “Wenches”, without exception, to be among the most fun and interesting people on the whole site…in fact you’ve inspired me…from here on in I’m offically “Wench Thumper”…you my gutless little dump and run merchant may kiss my cotton tail…

This is fantastic - do we each get our own personal stalker?
    .
    @Hungdaddy :)
You’ve been licking lead paint again haven’t you? Remember what the doctors told you last time?
As for those sores - sounds nasty! There might be an ancient herbal cure though.
Wrap your festering member in freshly picked leaves of the plant “Toxicodendron radicans ” - leave them in place for at least one day.
Failing that you could dip your manhood in battery acid - pretty much a cure all is that one :)
Let me know how it turns out? Don’t forget that you are never alone Hungdaddy, we are here for you! We love you!
Can you feel the love? Can you? Praise be brother - hallelujah!

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
