Yeah I got some stuff. I work at the Rennisance Festival, and play a pirate type character there so. We need to gather quite a few people though. Get people from Palm Beach and meet somewhere in North Broward or South Palm Beach area.

My husband just reminded me that our annual passes to Disney (yay, PotC!) start back up again next month... I think somewhere around August 18th? If anyone wants to join us, we'd love to share a plate of communion in Orlando anytime after that. We're youngins (22 and 24) but friendly.

I thought I'd crosspost this, because it's sort of a travesty.

There's a debate at USF (Tampa) on September 29th at 7:00. The guy in charge is a seminary student, and has three big name ID proponants (Behe, Wells, and Dembski) attending. As of last week, he didn't have anyone scheduled for the debate that doesn't support ID.

I don't really know what to expect. It doesn't sound like much of a debate. I will be there, with a handful of friends. I'd love to meet up with anyone who can get over there on a Friday evening.

Damn, I'll be out of state that weekend but do tell us how it went anyone who does manage to go. Yeah probably won't be much of a debate, wonder why? I'm sure we have plenty of qualified scientists etc. around here who are able to take this up.

They've stopped calling it a debate (probably a good call) and are now calling it an Intelligent Design conference. I still think it sounds like a brainwashing session. The group of people funding it are a small group of medical doctors who 'dissent from Darwinian macroevolution as a viable theory.' They are giving their video to everyone who attends - free for students and teachers, $5 for everyone else.

I'm printing up critiques of as many of the books by the attendees as I can find, a few really good 'basic creation myth unravelling' articles, a copy of the court findings re: Intelligent Design in schools, and I'm going to leave it in their geology department in case anyone who attends ID conferences is interested in actual facts.

I'll be the redhead in the pirate shirt - I hope some of you can make it!
