The Obvious Question

I'm a Secular Humanist. That means that I hate America, and think that abortion is a good thing, and believe that Osama bin Laden is a basically decent person, and I like to discriminate against Christians, I believe in invented spelling, and that there is no such thing as "right" and "wrong", and I won't admit that Bill Clinton lied, and, oh, yes, I think we should raise taxes, and I'm a Socialist, and think that religion should be kept out of the public eye, and that people should be required to marry within their gender. What am I forgetting here?

Sorry to ruin the fun there, but I seriously think that that's pretty insulting of Secular Humanists, whether you be one or not. I don't deny that Clinton lied, I don't discriminate Christians, I don't hate America, I don't believe in "invented spelling", you say Socialist like it's a bad thing (yes, I am one), and I don't believe Osama Bin Laden's acts are condonable. Even if you were kidding, I find this discriminatory to my political views and my philosophical (religious) stance. If for whatever reason this is insulting, could a mod delete it, since I'm really busy at my current state in life?

EDIT: I understand that you probably weren't trying to say that Secular Humanists in general believe what you said, but you said like since you are one, you have to believe those things, which is wrong. Apologies if I offend you ahead of time.

No, actually I did not intend to have his post deleted, I just wanted to point out that what was said was offensive and lead to a series of more posts similar to it. I meant that if my post angered anyone, MY posts should be deleted, since deleting his posts would damage the topic. I'm probably being looked upon as a fool by now, anyway. Good day.

You gotta have a sense of humor, else you won't survive. Us "under dogs" have found humor one of the best weapons, I think. It's most fun to empoly when some pompous ass hears what you're saying but does not process it as humor and gets all bent out of shape. I'm not refering to you, S-11, but to the right wing nut jobs out there.
Honey works very well too I've found. An opponent buried in compliments often loses track of what's going on in the debate. Kill 'em with kindness and shield yourself with sarcasm.

Back to the original question. I am almost an atheist, except that I am not really sure that the standard scientific view of the world has a satisfactory view of consciousness - i.e. maybe consciousness has a deeper part to play in the structure of the universe than most scientists think. (Actually, quantum mechanics already hints at this with its concept of the 'observer')

Maybe someone can think of a snappy 'ism' for this sort of belief!

This has the possibility of causing some controversy on such a sensitive topic so I apologise in advance as I believe quite passionately in what I am about to say.

I am an extreme atheist. As extreme as you can be. I believe that man created god rather than the other way around. I have no religion, not even FSMism - all I like from FSM is the idea. I am NOT a believer in it. I think religion should be banned from schools especially from science classes. I believe that religion leads other people down a false life. I think that science is definately the way forward to progress in life. Religion should be a private thing and should not be pressed onto other people, not even their children, and has no place in the government. I am indeed a socialist perhaps even more left. I think George Bush is evil. I believe that Tony Blair hasn't done so bad and he is probably the only person I want as Prime Minister at this moment in time.

I also believe that using the picture of hell to scare little children is evil. I believe that the world would be a nicer and better place if religion didn't exist. I think that morality came from ourselves rather than some "higher being". I think fundamentalists are simply misunderstood and lost. Thats all I can think of at the moment. As again I apologise for any offense that has been taken.
