The Sport Direct bake-off thingy. Kirsty Young might be getting on a bit but still :lech:

I don't watch much TV, but I am a fan of Sherlock. Did anyone watch the new series? I enjoyed it, but in a three episode series, really at least one episode should be on concept. I found myself at the end longing for an episode where they just get an ordinary case and follow it from beginning to end. I worry that directorial style has overtaken basic storytelling a bit, with too much of an episode shown in flashbacks, and sometimes not even that excuse for showing things in a distracting nonlinear fashion. Also, too many abstractions of Sherlock's deduction processes. This stuff is not story! We had five minutes of him deciding which way to fall after being shot in the last one.

Just finished watching Ashes to Ashes.

Shit.
That was good.

Also, not what I was expecting.

The new Cosmos with Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Is good ya.
"How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, 'This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed'? Instead they say, 'No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.'" - Carl Sagan

"To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection." - Henri Poincaré

Cheeky little sods and very clever, well worth watching for UK residents.

R + L = J ?
I believe it's time for mankind to set aside the crutch of religion and embrace morality born of reason and truth. Those crutches have long since proven treacherous when the ground gets slippery.
