Colts beat Kansas City 45-44 with a 28 point comeback that's the second greatest in NFL playoff history.

England lose The Ashes series 5-0.

Oh, sorry, wrong thread.

I'm betting there won't be a World Cup tournament that year.

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

Stanislas/Stan/Stan the Man/Stanimal/King Stanis Wawrinka wins his first tennis major at the Aussie Open, beating an injured Nadal.

Also, good read on painkiller addiction among NFL players and retirees.

At no point in my life have I ever thought that I could spend 16 uninterrupted minutes watching a table tennis match. That was hilarious.

And it's going to be interesting. Italy are looking pretty strong and gave Wales decent competition. France beat England 26-24, scoring in the first 35 seconds and the last 3 minutes. If England sort out the sheer butterfingerness of their first half today they could be a bloody good team.

Ireland are likely to win tomorrow but it will be interesting to see how Scotland play.

90's flashback night, as the Seattle Seahawks cream the Denver Broncos 43-8 in the Super Bowl. Thankfully, they did not give the MVP to the Seahawks QB, as it really was the defense and special teams that won that one for Seattle (the city's first major championship win).

Second championship. Seattle won the NBA championship back in 1979.

Yeah, hadn't realized that one when I posted. They've also got some WNBA titles but that's not quite "major."

Derek Jeter to retire at the end of the 2014 season. Last of the greats from the late 90's Yankees dynasty years.

Stand by for another season-long goodbye party, a la Mariano Rivera last year.
