It could be 2/6 real...
That depends. What are the chances of the outcome being real?IF
one assumes that there are 2 chances out of 6 for it being real...AND
one assumes that you have already gone through one chance without it being real...AND
one assumes that, of the 6 chances, two possible real outcomes are both possible AND consecutive out of the 6, given a consecutive rotational opportunity of chances...THEN
it is easy to deduce that a 2/6 (or 1/3) possibility did not come to be on the first chance. That leaves 4/6 or (2/3) of the possible permutations that wouldn't be real on the first chance.
you are tied up by some wierdo with a riddle fetish who tells you that he's got a 6-chamber revolver loaded with two neighborly bullets and four neighborly empty chambers, then spins the chamber, points the gun at your head, pulls the trigger, and ends up with no bullet through your skull, then
asks you if you'd rather he spin the chambers before he pulls the trigger a second time or not... THEN
this mental exercise is important and you should remember that the freshly spun option gives you 2/6 (or 1/3) chance of getting shot, while the already pulled trigger without a bullet and consecutively pulled trigger afterward gives you 1/4 chance of getting shot.
Since 1/4 is less of a chance than 1/3, you are better off not spinning the chambers. Of course, you're better off by far being in the position to ask this as a tricky interview question than you are having to answer it.
