Did you know (notice) that Nef Yoo has grown a moustache and therefore must have hit 15?

Did you know? There's a new game (Beta Trial) where you try to build space ships and send your little characters out into space and even attempt a moon landing. I can't remember what it's called though.

Did you know that short term memory is a misnomer?

Psychologists prefer to call it working memory. Although it is limited in time to about 30 seconds (without too many distractions), the most significant limit to working memory is the number of things you can hold in it. George Miller identified in 1956 that our working memory can only really hold or work on about 7 things (plus or minus 2) at a time. Of all the things you see, hear or think in any 30 second period, you're never holding on to more than 7 at any given time.

Linky.

There are several good parlour tricks / serious psychological experiments that I could do to demonstrate this, but they don't work in print. Bummer.

Did you know that James the IV of Scotland was the last British King to die in battle?

[pedant]Technically, the Union of England and Scotland didn't happen until 1603 when Liz the First popped her clogs so Jim (who died in 1513) was a Scottish king, not a British one.[/pedant]

Edit - It turns out technically Great Britain didn't exist until 1707, I have outpedanted myself

Simply: the crowns were united in 1603 in James VI and I. James never managed to unite the kingdoms, which finally happened in 1707 under Queen Anne.
