It's been rather sunny and quite pleasant...but now it's turning cold again. :furious:
The smoke wafted gently in the breeze across the poop deck and all seemed right in the world.

Cold, but not horribly so. It rained the other night, quite enthusiastically.

OK, now let's look at four dimensions on the blackboard.

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

So, on Tuesday I'm moving from Orlando area to Denver. The comparison makes me shiver. Today will be in the 80's, it's already over 70. Today in Denver the expected high is 28!

Here is the real debate, tho... If I get lucky in Denver, shouldn't that get me in to the mile high club?

Your first week or so in Denver, you're going to feel as weak as an old man. It's the altitude. You need to drink lots of water, eat lots of protein and iron-rich food, and get your red blood cells into shape. I spent *ahem* rather longer than I had a visa for, in a place near Boulder 8300 feet up in the Rockies. First week or so I felt dreadful, after that I was fine, but when I got back to sea level in New York I felt like Superman - full of energy and strength.

Weather here is flat, grey, cold and uncomfortable. A bit like a prison blanket.

I was in denver, plus a day trip to the rocky mountain state park for a hike at 10,000+ back in November. Hiking was insanely difficult comparatively, but I luckily didn't get the overall weakness.

I never had trouble adapting to the altitude, and even went to Pike's Peak my first week. Don't let the temps scare you -- you'll want a warm coat for the worst days, but generally layers are your friend. You'll get snow, but it doesn't last in the metro area. Occasionally a big storm will actually keep people in a given neighborhood in their homes all day. By noon the next day, a wagon train of upscale SUVs will be forging a path to the malls or entertainment centers, because Cabin Fever strikes hard within 24 hours...
