Speak for yourself. Lovely and sunny hereabouts.

So you're not in Scotland then. :moon:

Lots of rain interspersed with warm(ish) sunshine tempered with cool to cold breezes and high winds.

Frankenstorm Sandy hitting NYC metro area Monday

80% chance of tropical storm force winds. ~8 foot storm surges. The subways and bus systems are being shut down, some low-lying areas are being evacuated. But who still has to go into work on Monday? This guy. :bummer:

Would be interested to see that comparison with the eyes a little closer... That picture of Irene looks like it's making landfall, but that image of Sandy is from yesterday, before the storm really got going in most places (from what I understand).

That is one big mothafucker and late in the season too!
Lived most my life in the tropics where preparing for cyclone season with gas stove / lighting, candles, batteries, non-perishable foods and water was an annual ritual. Got ruffled by a few over the years. Any you guys in its path be prepared and remember always piss downwind. May His Noodliness watch over you.

This is what a downtown Manhattan subway station looks like right now

Note that they can't even get to where the actual tracks are, which means that area is completely submerged.

EDIT: The 1 train track is submerged. The R train track is the one that they got to in the video.
