Puttin' On The Ritz.

Fred Astaire version? Oh hell no. I've got Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle from Young Frankenstein stuck in my head...

Bringing it all back home. In fairness it could be much worse, I did listen to Girls Aloud a while ago.

It's Alright, Ma is possibly the best 'spoken word with guitar' song ever recorded.

I went to a wonderful charity entertainment last week. Now I've got George Formby and his ukelele doing Leanin' On A Lamppost going round and round my head. Not even Schubert's 5th will shift it.

From Wikipedia:

In 1963 the German version, Und dein Zug fährt durch die Nacht, (And your train goes through the night) was a success for Peter Beil.

Huh. Huh. Uhuhuh. He said "fährt". Huh huh.

What I want is a proper cup of coffee,
Made in a proper copper coffee pot.
I may be off my dot,
But I want a cup of coffee from a proper coffee pot.
Iron coffee pots and tin coffee pots,
They're no use to me, so
If I can't have a proper cup of coffee
From a proper copper coffee pot, I'll have a cup of tea!"

It's doing my head in.

Wild Wild West. I remember when that film came out. Surprisingly, for a Will Smith film-tie-in it's not that bad a song.

So there was a story about the defacing of a Rothko painting in the news. Now I have Dar Williams' "Mark Rothko Song" stuck in my head. It's the backing vocals at the end - they don't go away easily...
