The Moon... Question

Is the Moon made of parmesan cheese? I have often pondered this. Knowing that of course the moon landings were faked, and that parmesan cheese goes great on spaghetti... kinda makes sense.

On a side note, my wife is making spaghetti tonight for us to eat tomorrow night... We all know how great second day old spaghetti is... imagine how great billion year old spaghetti would taste!

I'm thinking this too, although maybe the FSM in His infinite, yet highly fallible, wisdom, may have made the moon out of many cheeses, just as the Beer Volcano and Stripper Factory provide us with what we want and need. I wouldn't put it past Him to do this at all. Imagine the Sea of Extra Mature Cheddar, or Mount Emmental!

How could we all have missed that? I feel so stupid now. Hmmm. What if only the holes are made of Swiss cheese?

There's a lunar eclipse tomorrow ,10th December, so maybe careful observations through the bosun's telescope will reveal the truth.

Thanks David! It'll start just before midnight here, and carry on into the 11th. Which, presumably, means it wil be around your sunset on the 10th (and sunrise on the 10th for the USAians).

Thanks too, David. I'd forgotten about that, although i'll have to travel to see it. I'm hemmed in by houses (line-of-sight blocked), and in an area of bloody light pollution! Saying that, I can see stars here, so it's not all bad. The village I used to live in was perfect, as there was almost no light pollution there. The price we pay for living in civilised areas...

Perhaps it'll be one of those things the FSM will never really let us know. Maybe the moon is made of cheese, but when people look closely at it, or travel to it, he waves His Noodly Appendage to make it appear to be rock.

It was too cloudy here, too.

But we did get a great picture of the eclipse almost a year ago.
