You practice your Swedish and you'll find our language has lots of things to get on your brain. Like our long words. I found one good today:

Informationssäkerhetsområdet

FRA, the lovely anti-terrorism guys, is a good place to find them:

The FRA isn't anti-terrorist, they're military signal intelligence. Their job is to buy information from russian FAPSI and american NSA.

Bug, they're pretty long words but I doubt if Swedish can even come close to German in the long word stakes.

How about Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz (beef labeling regulation & delegation of supervision law - 63 letters)?

Theoretically we can make endless words. I can try making that german word into a Swedish one.

Nötköttsvarumärkesregleringstillsynsmanslagen

Just 45 letters ;)

True enough - both languages can keep it up for ever, so I shouldn't be bragging.

Considering that German and Swedish began to diverge around the time of Jebus, they've kept an amazing amount of common vocabulary. Your Informationssäkerhetsområdet = Informationssicherheits- (+ Gebiet or some such) and German still has um and Rat as you do, although områd- seems to mean 'area' and Umrat is meaningless. Thus long words are so often easy to work out; it's the short ones that often give no clue.
