FSM t-shirts

Postby Noodly on Fri Mar 04, 2011 3:01 pm

Hi Pastafarians!

I am considering making some good quality screen-printed t-shirts featuring the Monster for my real-life Pastafarian friends. There are quite a few of them, but probably not enough for the minimal order requirement for doing a screen-print run. I'll therefore put the extra ones on ebay for sales.

My question is, is FSM a trade mark, or is the concept of the FSM an intellectual property of someone? I don't want to violet any's rights by doing so.

I drew the picture of PSM myself, and is using it as my avatar picture right now.

Thanks!

(Apologies for the numerous grammatical errors in the previous post  )

Just want to share a few more graphics that I made as different t-shirt ideas:

A Flying Spaghetti Monster. A Flying Ramen Monster. And a mock logo which I think would looks quite neat on a white mug.

Why not ask Bobby on the main site?

He already has a load of stuff for sale; he might welcome additional artwork!

My guess is that if the artwork itself is original, you should be fine. Of course, I have no legal expertise whatsoever.

I would suggest what Tig suggests, though. More designs for the main site is always good, and Bobby may be able to work out getting you some payment for donating the designs? Not sure if something like that is set up.

In any event, the best thing to do would be to email Bobby and ask him what you should do.

Any statistical increase in the usage of the :idiot: emoticon since becoming Admin should not be considered significant, meaningful, or otherwise cause for worry.

I seem to remember something about this on a FAQ page but I can't find it now. Wasn't there a FAQ page on the main site?

Is this the one?

Q: We want to use FSM designs for t-shirt, jerseys, posters…
A: It’s ok to use FSM materials for your own use and to spread the word – I’m happy to see it. There have been a number of sports team and club shirts — I can provide high quality images/vector designs for screen printing, just let me know.

That said, it’s not ok to *SELL* FSM products.

Obviously, the FSM was obscuring my vision when I attempted to find it earlier. :guilty:

ALL FSM designs have been reported for "Copyright Infringeme

Postby aristotles.muse on Sun Apr 24, 2011 7:02 pm

All FSM and Pastafarian themed designs have been reported for "copyright infringement" on the zazzle.com online marketplace! That means thousands of fellow pastafarian designs and man-hours have been wiped out! I am unsure of whether it is a religious group/individual committing perjury in an attack on the pastafarian community or if the FSM has suddenly gone the way of DRM, but I'm looking into it.

I have tried to contact Bobby Henderson about the issue, but haven't been able to get a reply. Perhaps if others could email him, we'd get a response?
