It has been the wettest winter in… ummm… a loooong time.

But I agree. For a long while, our younger grandson's favourite joke was "What's brown and sticky?"* which we replaced with "What's brown and crunchy?"†

One of the magistrates who's been around a couple of years was telling a story yesterday about a hearing that involved a drunk guy dressed up as a pirate "and it wasn't even Halloween, it was, like, September." I said, "September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day." She stared at me a moment and then said, "We have got to tighten our hiring practices."

As ye all be knowin, tis tawk loik a pyrat daye, wich be me fayvorit hallidaye ov all. Methinks I shall tell ye ov me advenchurs that hav bin had. When it were offishally ITLAPD I started on the rum, and singing tha shanties, and woke up in me own bed which were good. Thar were a wench tharr too wich always be pleesin ta the Capin har har. I weren't seen in class terday fer I were sleepin off tha rum and playin Monkee Ayeland when I woke. Latarrr I shall be makin spaghetti and drinkin an Arrogant Bastard Ale wif it, followed by morrrr rum and me crew shall be joinin'
