…… Sid is something to do with Montego. Vaguely. In a round-about way. There is a link, I promise. It just isn't human, exactly.

Hmmmm, something to do with the car itself? Or another use? (Only other seemingly relevant use listed on Wikipedia is Montego Bay in Jamaica)

Hissing Sid was a character in a song sung by Keith Michelle...he was a snake...it was a hit back in the 70's.

You seem to be hinting at Monty Python.

Okay, I think I've figured this out. Sid can be an acronym for Standard Instrument Departure, standardized takeoff patterns/procedures/routes from airports. It appears that there is one (I think it's for the Manchester airport) called MONTY.

OK, I'll play. When we bought a minivan, I named it "William Brewster. Let's see if that's obscure enough.

96-ish, burgundy minivan. Make and model might be a giveaway.

Congratulations!

Yep, Montego => Monty => Monty Python => Python which is a snake; so was Hissing Sid, therefore we called it Sid.

I still like my explanation more. :bummer:

Although it is pretty typical of me to go with a more overwrought, complex explanation than the simple one.

Is that why you're the only creationist currently on this forum? :haha:

I keep trying to think of a name I could use here, but I don't have anything interesting or of the right difficulty. :bummer:
