Sure, Tiger's big press confessional might be 10 am (CST), but it'll be 5 o'clock somewhere, right? So for all of our friends in Novoribirsk, grab a few beers, a pint of your favorite liquor, and let's watch some public shaming!

Take a drink: Every time he mentions the word "sorry" or "apologize."
Take two drinks: Every time he uses the phrase "deeply regret."
Take a shot: Every time he starts to tear up.
Take a drink: If he talks about his family.
Take a shot: If he mentions his sponsors at all.

Take TWO shots: At the beginning of the statement if he's standing in front of a giant corporate logo of some kind.
Drink your entire beer: If he mentions returning to golf within the next three months.
Drink your entire bottle of liquor: If he blames this on a horrible sex addiction that he is powerless to stop.

Drink everything in your house, cry, and curse the death of professional golf: If he announces his retirement.

I turned the TV and radio off, and I am avoiding news sites, because I am conflicted about Tiger: I am a rock 'n' roll guy, and while I think he should be contrite about cheating on his wife, he is the most rich and famous golfer on the planet, so he should be able to shag anyone he feels like with complete impunity. Otherwise, what is the point of fame and fortune?

Anyway, the whole shebang has been trailed for days. I am turned off by the morality of the golf world; but I think he has a duty of care to his wife. Not to his fans, or his sponsors, but definitely to his wife.

But that's exactly why it's news. If an NBA player gets in a gun fight, no surprise. Baseball player caught using steroids? Tell me one I haven't heard. But golf players aren't a group that create a lot of controversy. So when it does happen, it sticks out.
