WWTFSMD?

Postby gwood on Tue Nov 29, 2005 7:04 pm

OK, here's my song. Written with the zeal of the newly converted, I was so excited until I found out there was already a whole forum section comprised of songs. Oh well...

Hope to record this soon and provide an MP3 link.

What Would the Flying Spaghetti Monster Do? Chords: C F G, C Am Dm G

The scientists are wrong
the atheists are too
geophysicists and anthropologists
haven't got a clue.

Your Ph.D. is useless
so is everything you know
if you haven't heard the heavenly word
of the beer volcano.

(Chorus)
What would the Flying Spaghetti Monster do?
that's the only question that concerns me and you
in our search for the truth.
In our daily lives there's so much strife
but we can live by this rule
and take the time to ponder it through.

The Noodly Appendage
is there for everyone
It created trees and mountains,
a midget and the sun.

Put away your carbon dating tools
they're not accurate at all
if you haven't heard
the Flying Spaghetti Monster's blessed call.

(Chorus)

The polar caps are melting
the glaciers are in retreat,
is it fluorocarbons that have caused
the rising of the sea?

Arr, matey, there's a ratio
it's scientific fact
global warming won't abate
'til the pirate ships come back.

(Chorus)

The children in our public schools
in every science class
deserve the honest truth about
the origins of man.

Flying Spaghetti Monsterism
Biblical Design
or logical conjecture based on overwhelming
observable evidence...
let them make up their own minds!

(final Chorus, variant)
What would the Flying Spaghetti Monster do?
that's the only question that concerns me and you
in our search for the truth.
In our daily lives there's so much strife
but we can work it through
if we live every day by this rule.
What would the Flying Spaghetti Monster do?

It's not to the tune of something else, I play it as a mid-tempo folk-type thing, but it could easily be punked up or rocked out. I'm going to record it soon, nothing fancy, just voice & guitar, and will post a MP3 download link. Please bear with me.

Thanks for your interest!

Knocked off a quick one-track recording of my song today, replete with the odd bad note and trademark lacklustre performance. Covers by more competent (or less, what the hey) artists welcomed.

Please note that this song is copyright 2005 by Gary Wood. Permission is granted for any nonprofit, noncommercial use. If anyone makes a pile of money off it, I want some!

To download or listen, go to Rapid Share:

http://rapidshare.de/files/8942899/FSM.mp3.html

Scroll to bottom of page and click Free.

Scroll to counter at bottom and wait 16 seconds or so.

Enter code as shown.

Dialog box opens, choose Save or Open.

It's easier than it sounds, takes only a couple of minutes, about the same as an email DL. Enjoy! Please!

BTW, Rapid Share is a really good way to store and share large files for free. The file you post remains on the internet for 30 days after the last person downloads it, so if you want to keep it there forever, just check on it every 30 days and DL it.

ha ha ha!

I love how you do

"Flying Spaghetti Monsterism
Biblical Design
or logical conjecture based on overwhelming
observable evidence...
let them make up their own minds!"

and the RAmen at the end.

RAmen!

best part is it isn't idol worshipping (like some christian rock I could mention), and is humorous!

I see that 11 people have downloaded my song. Thanks for listening! I also see that the Rapidshare site is doing "heavy maintenance" until 1/1/06, which means that free DLs are hard to get right now.

What about the poster, Intehnet, who wanted to play the song? Get it figured out?

Yes, go right ahead, I'd be honored. Can you tell me more about this internet radio thing?

Auntie Dee Dee wrote:Got anything else he could use, FSM or not??

There are some more of my recordings on the Download section at http://www.bittersweetembrace.co.uk
You or he could use any of them. They're not exactly professional recordings. The FSM song is there, too.

Auntie Dee Dee wrote:Anybody else you know willing to volunteer some music?

Not offhand... you could ask some of the posters at BSE who left DLs. Bondy is good.

Hey. The internet radio thing's official unofficial thread is here. (That thing will eventually need to get split...)

The song in this thread is one of the three that loop. Thanks for letting me use it.

The short answer is yes. Eventually, every DJ is going to be broadcasting whatever he or she feels like broadcasting, and my computer simply doesn't have the hard drive space to keep all the music in. Once the bot gets a good one-or-two-hour loop established, it'll be left alone.
