On the subject of late December b-days...
Being born on December 24th, and being the second grandchild, my grandparents decided to spend the same amount of money for each grandchild for Christmas and the same amount for birthdays for each grandchild. My mother ended all Christmas-eve traditions. December 24th was my birthday and December 25th was Christmas.
As a kid, I got both b-day and Xmas presents. Then, as my tastes got more expensive, I got combination b-day/Xmas presents. Then, as my tastes got even more expensive, my mother and grandparents combined funds and I got a present that combined b-day and x-mas funds from both sources...
