Curry spice flavours do not necessarily last well in slow cooking. If you slow cook your meat (especially lamb on the bone, or chicken legs) with tomatoes or onions or whatever, and then add your flavours at the end, you're probably onto a winner. Sorry - I gotta disagree. Curry in the slow cooker is much, much better as it gives all the spices a chance to really mellow and harmonise. Just make sure you're using a mix of individual spices, not boring curry powder. Its a similar reason why curry always tastes better reheated the next day.
