On the other hand, no-one remembers that the first Police Academy movie was quite good, because the six sequels were so dire.Detective TurtleHolmes wrote:

I recently found out about an upcoming film called Inception. It looks almost like an Escher drawing in certain parts. Hopefully this will be a good sci-fi action film, but with something to make you think.

I'll probably just see it because it's Christopher Nolan. And it has Cillian Murphy, and that's never a bad thing.
I'm curious though... how long has it been since Nolan made a film that doesn't have Michael Cain in it? I'm also interested in how DiCaprio does out with Nolan as a director.

That is amazing. At this point, I don't think he should stop.
He seems to favor certain actors. At least, the same actors keep showing up in his films. Cillian Murphy, Christian Bale, Michael Cain, etc. It's not egregrious... and since I like all those actors, I'm certainly not complaining.

It's a pretty common attribute in auteur directors. The Coen brothers have a certain set they tend to use (McDormand, Goodman, Buscemi, Turturro, Clooney). Bergman had his repertory company.

As did Werner Herzog...Klaus Kinski appears in most of his films but there is a definite troupe of actors which feature.
