I wish I could find my copy of The Meaning Of Liff right now. There's a word in it I can't remember which means 'to beat an expert at a game by playing so appallingly badly that none of their clever tactics are any use against you'. That's what it's like using reason on a fundie, in my experience. They just don't like the rules of your game, so they use their own rules: "The book says you're going to Hell, so you are. No, I don't care what your argument is, it's not in the book so it doesn't count". That's why they're called unsinkable rubber ducks, I suppose.

Roy, you're thinking of Aboyne. Incidentally, it's how I play poker and may account for me always winning or losing terribly (usually the latter).

It's how I play Super Smash Brothers.

If I want a boy to do something important, and he is playing against his brother or a friend, I take over until he comes back, or I win. I just mash random buttons, my sprite (which I cannot discern from the others, of course) is totally unpredictable and I win by utter luck.
