Spanners are wrenches. Wrench is just the American word for spanner. Crescent wrenches, when dropped in the water, create less of a tidal wave than full moon wrenches.

Since when is an echidna a mammal?

@Tig - nice place for elephants, but I only see a home for them...no wrinkly grey pachyderms.

An Echidna is a mammal, it's just not a placental mammal. It's a monotreme, which is still a mammal.

Here's the most recent elephant born in Copenhagen. They apparently have quite a breeding program. He sure looks grey to me!

Scroll down that page - there are TWO photographs of them!

Mammals are animals that feed their young with milk. (Mammary glands). Echidna and platypus are the two kinds of mammals that lay eggs.

And creationists say there are no cross-over species!

Well, mammals take after their kind... That is to say, they're following directions...

Here is a classic:

There are 5 houses. Each house is painted a different color. Each owner of a house is a different nationality, drinks a different drink, smokes a different brand of cigarette and each has a different type of pet.

Here are your clues:

1. The British owner lives in the red house.
2. The Swedish man likes dogs.
3. The Danish man enjoys a spot of tea.
4. When looking at the front of the houses the green house is just left of the white one.
5. The owner of the green house likes coffee.
6. The person that raises birds smokes Pall Malls.
7. The man who smokes Dunhill brand also owns the yellow house.
8. The owner of the center house drinks milk.
9. The man from Norway lives in the last house on the left.
10. The person who smokes Blends is the neighbor to the man who smokes Dunhill.
11. The man who drinks beer also smokes Bluemasters.
12. The German man smokes Prince.
13. The Norwegian is the neighbor to the man who lives in the blue house.
14. The person who smokes Blends lives next to the man who drinks water.

The Question: Who is the owner of the pet fish?

This took me an hour to solve but I got it eventually.

ps. use a pen and paper.
1. The cosmos is a gigantic flywheel making 10,000 revolutions a minute.
2. Man is a sick fly taking a dizzy ride on it.
3. Religion is the theory that the wheel was designed and set spinning to give him a ride.

Hmm... Well, i'm not realy sure where to start. Problem is, fish are not mentioned in any of the clues, and only two pets are. That would make process of elimination difficult... Is this a trick question or am I not thinking along the right lines?

Nobody had a fish. The fish owned them. That's right, fish are our benevolent overlords, may we serve them well, and may we feed them little freeze-dried worms until the end of times.
