Happy Ramendan Everyone!!!

Postby Scott the Pirate on Wed Aug 26, 2009 12:35 pm

Couldn't find a thread dedicated to the fact that Ramendan recently started!

According to the Fiqh Council of North America: "In North America, for the 2009 year, Ramadan begins on August 22 and ends September 21, 2009"

So bust out those ramen noodles people!!!

This site is great for finding out about some world-wide religious events and to which religion they refer.

I couldn't find any Pastafarian ones, though! :furious:

Edit: Perhaps I should make one…

You'd best hurry, September 19 is only a few weeks away!

OK, now let's look at four dimensions on the blackboard.

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

Do we put up a tree or hang pasta around our house???

I hope we don't have to give gifts.

[Paraphrasing the Gospel] Pastafarians eat ramen during Ramendan to remind themselves of their college days and be happy for all that they've accomplished, and if they haven't accomplished anything yet, they eat to remind themselves to at least be happy that they're Pastafarians. At the end of Ramendan, Pastafarians are encouraged to give any leftover ramen to those less fortunate than themselves. [/Paraphrasing]

As i was eating my daily packet of Thai Kitchen noodles today i got to wondering.... do they count? Or do the noodles consumed HAVE to be "ramen"?

They are rather ramen-like, but better for you.

I would like to say my Ramendan has started off very nicely. I had forgot to buy Ramen but was planning on it since I am in fact now a college student. My roommate's girlfriend bought us a lot of food, including 2 12 packs of Ramen. I will be sure to eat it, and give out the extra to the needy families near the school.
