What comic book are you currently reading/viewing?

Postby Charlie on Fri Aug 21, 2009 7:34 pm

I finally summed up the courage to make a thread! I don't think comic books should go in the "what are you reading" thread. Comics are more then just reading. There are also pictures. Can't forget the pictures. so here's the "What comic book are you currently reading/viewing?" thread! Yay!

Dark Reign - Young Avengers #1 - 3. Avenger wannabes meet Masters of Evil wannabes. Trouble ensues. One of the Young Masters of Evil is a neo-nazi with a psychopathic robot. They've got a black guy, two gays and also an alien. Yeah, she's going to get into the Avengers.

I've been looking everywhere for Robot 13. It's fairly new, so there aren't many torrents around. I've read a few pages, and the artwork is really something else.

Why does he make sense sometimes?

Anyway, I found a copy of Robot 13. There's only one issue, just started in July. It got me hooked!

Reviewing (heh - re-viewing, get it?) V for Vendetta, which is one of my all-time favorites.

Marvel's War of Kings is quite good. And so is the 'old Man Logan' arc in Wolverine. Have I mentioned I'm a Marvel purist? i've stopped reading DC after they had the huge reality vs reality battle where I got confused over who was dead and who wasn't. Besides, Marvel has so many comics that some sacrafices had to be made, so . . . bye, DC. Don't come back until Batman's a zombie.

Last non-manga comic I read was Persepolis. Offers a personal insight into the Iranian revolution, what it did to the culture, and why it was ultimately un-Iranian.
"How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, 'This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed'? Instead they say, 'No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.'" - Carl Sagan

"To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection." - Henri Poincaré

I just finished a 1985 hard cover of Donald Duck . All the stories are by Carl Barks . He also provides a Wonderful introduction of Donnys development.

Does this thread include 'Graphic Novels'?

You should write a Graphic Novel whilst your text is coming out like that...it could be the greatest thing since Nadsat.
