Pastafarian Hall of Saints

Postby The Ra Man » Sun Jun 07, 2009 11:35 am

Here you can nominate people who have benefited pastafarianism, piracy, or anything related. Here are my nominees:

1.Image Marco Polo: Patron saint of noodles
2.Image General Tom Thumb: Patron saint of midgits
3.Image Edward Teach (Blackbeard): Patron saint of piracy

I nominate:
- Saint Jack of Sparrow (nuff said)
- Saint Alan of Tudyk for his excellent portrayal of Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball (and for simply being in Firefly)

and

Of course The Patron Saint of Talk Like A Pirate Day - the late great Robert Newton

And we must not forget our dear late lamented St. John the Blasphemist.

Also of course, Auntie Dee Dee.

Captain Cronan, of course. (Oh wait, we're not allowed to call him by that name, are we?)

Actually, I have been planning to open a thread along similar lines, but was waiting to get to sufficient rank before proposing this. But here's a thread on topic, so I'll go ahead.

I noticed that our late and very deeply missed friend St. John the Blasphemist, left us at the rank of Lord of Linguini. His old posts, last I checked, still say that - no moderator title. StJB, while not reaching Prophet, certainly deserves to have his rank upgraded to "Saint" by the Moderators. I suggest, or course, "Patron Saint of dear friends who shall be greatly missed", if that will fit in the space allowed. If that won't fit, let's open a thread in the Temple of the Prophets and bestow upon him a saintly rank worthy of his wit.

(I would propose the same for AuntieDeeDee, but I cannot find her profile, nor any of her old posts.)

I totally agree. I've seen more than a few posts before suggesting the same thing. I was also thinking we should make a holiday to honor him, like the feast days the Catholics do for their saints. Maybe Oct 1st, the day he joined?

Everything she wrote seems to have been intentionally deleted, either by her or maybe someone else. Apparently she had a fight with Bobby and there was a falling out. Dunno if you'll get Church support on that one.

I wasn't here when she was posting, so I don't know any of the history. I only know I have seen some fond remembrances of her lately.

But, how about it Cap? An official Saint title for St.JB?

I second (third? fourth? fifth?) the motion of Sainthood. I wasn't here to know him, but St.JtB's posts are here for posterity. Even newcomers like me can get the same sense of the man that was available to people at the time of posting, such is the nature of bulletin boards.

My vote is with Ching Shi (aka Zheng Yi Sao): Patron Saint of Strippers.

She was a stripper, then became a pirate. Too awesome.
