Is FSM a legal religion in Australia?

im a serious nothing. no religion and it gives my neighbors no end of annoyance. i want to make it worse for them, is FSM'ism a legal religion in Australia? theres only so much preaching i can take from them, they even put a bible at there window facing my room so i can "read and convert"

Well it depends by how you define a religion. We are essentially here to parody ID being taught in classrooms, so in essence not really an organised religion.

However, there are some who wish to make it an organised religion and good on them for that!! I'm not aware of any attempts to get formal religious recognition in Australia. But hey, if Scientology can do it, there is no reason why we can't!

Given your circumstances, I'd say you have every right to start preaching your own doctrine right back at those sanctimonius dimwits. Get your best pirate gear, copy of Bobby's book and midget friends together - and unleash pasta hell!!

I'm in Australia, and I recently had to go into hospital; I put 'Pastafarian' in thr 'religion' slot on the form, but my wristband was printed Rel: OTHER. Next time I'll try Church of FSM (CoFSM) and see what they put!

I have a shrine in my room (a pirate ship children's tent with a model FSM made from big polystyrene balls and hair noodles) and I have a little pirate ship (bath toy) and FSM (made from little polystyrene balls and coloured pipe cleaners) attached to my mobility walker for everyone to see when I go out!

I also have pirate flags everywhere.

I'm sure you could retaliate by putting a copy of the FSM gospel in your window. A religion does not have to be officially recognised anywhere for it to be a valid one for you!

hehe, i have other reasons too. im itchin for an excuse to walk around with an eye patch and drink rum all day. i live in a port town so hookers are a dime a dozen.
