Was this meant ironically, or should I take some well-deserved offense?

Refer to Ken Worley's offendedness thread.

Greetings!

My church has adopted a variant of the FSM Holiday, called "Pirate Holiday", Which we celebrate on the day after Christmas and involves decorating a small mast with pirate themed ornaments and exchanging gifts (Possibly loot) in brightly colored treasure paper or cardboard chests. The FSM ornament goes in the crow's nest on top.

We have also added the FSM to our pantheon.

Feel free to reference this in the FSM Holiday article if you like.

Looking at the revision history:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_winter_festivals&action=history

Mention was removed by Matt Crypto

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Matt_Crypto

on the ground that he things is doesn't meet wikipedia's criteria of Notability:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies)

which says:

An organization is generally considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. Trivial or incidental coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not sufficient to establish notability. All content must be verifiable.

The way to get it included is NOT to edit the list of winter festivals yourself (that would be conflict of interest).

The way is to make a list of independant press coverage of FSMers celebrating Holiday, THEN point the Winter Festival talk page at that list, make the case that it does satisify the Notability criteria, and politely ask someone to re-instate the link. At no point should you attack Matt Crypto.
