What about a grenade? Or some sort of RPG? That's silly. Granted a grenade is more effective, but to grant some context, he was discussing guns in particular. The AK was that character's favorite lead pusher.

That was another great one. The author of Watchmen (Alan Moore, was it?) is so very descriptive. An abattoir full or retarded kids would certainly be a noisy place. Such frightened and mournful noise.
