Another shameless Beatles ripoff.

With apologies to McCartney / Lennon

I was thinking of nautical / piratey songs to turn saucy. Came up with 'Yellow Submarine'. Not much of a hymn but may be an amusing singsong if enough beer is involved. Need to be creative with my phrasings...

In the town where I was born
Lived a man who taught ID
And he told us how we were made
By the hand of some strange god
But suddenly we were touched
By a great noodly appendage
And now we know his sauce is good
Our God, his Wiggly Greatness.

We all believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster,
Flying Spaghetti Monster, Flying Spaghetti Monster
We all believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster,
Flying Spaghetti Monster, Flying Spaghetti Monster

And our friends on the Kansas school board
Don't know just how silly they look
And the band begins to play.

We all believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster,
Flying Spaghetti Monster, Flying Spaghetti Monster
We all believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster,
Flying Spaghetti Monster, Flying Spaghetti Monster

As we slurp the yummy noodles
That He has provided
Cheese of yellow and wine of red
Our God, his Wiggly Greatness

We all believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster,
Flying Spaghetti Monster, Flying Spaghetti Monster
We all believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster,
Flying Spaghetti Monster, Flying Spaghetti Monster
We all believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster,
Flying Spaghetti Monster, Flying Spaghetti Monster
We all believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster,
Flying Spaghetti Monster, Flying Spaghetti Monster

Let us not forget:

Yesterday
All my questions were explained away
though I've doubted God, I have to say
that I believe
what Bobby say

Suddenly
education can be science-free
Flying Spaghetti Monster, he made me
and midgets too
and all the trees

Praise His meaty balls and his noodles al dente
I put down my books; who needs school? I'd rather pray (ay, ay, ay)

Yesterday
Learned the FSM is here to stay
Now I know the truth! I've got to say
That I believe
What Bobby Say
Think of the pastabilities...

beatles rock. has solipsy seen your song? she'd be disgusted "i believe what bobby say".

acutally she'd probably like it, but she is a grammer nazi. probably.
anyway, here's a challange for you guys. a parody of hey jude. only its the guy talking to this other person. and the other person is an IDer. or maybe a conversation between the two. i dunno. just popped into my mind.

must've been him. :worship: :fsm_monocle:

What Dee Dee say. It's all about the meter. Besides, that gives it sort of a rasta-pasta feel. Imagine, if you will, that little crab from "The Little Mermaid" singing it to the dulcet tones of steel drum...

;-)

I'm a lover of good grammar meself, matey, but music be the stuff of fun!

(And while "what Bobby'd say" is certainly grammatically preferable, it does not convey the notion that he has already said. In our Ur-text, the Open Letter. I don't necessarily know what Bobby'd say about the color of my hair...but I know what he say about the FSM, mon!)

Time for the ovious ripoff

Postby Swatopluk on Mon Nov 07, 2005 11:42 am

Where is at last someone to produce
'Flying in the Sky with Meatballs' (FSM)?
I am no Beatles expert but that's the thing that first came to my mind.
Sorry, don't look for me for that task, I do more the traditional hymns.

Happy Forn-Day (4th day of the Pasta-Week), where we make love to our own enjoyment and to our Noodly Master's praise.
Onward noodly pirates!

Yarrr! That be sounding like a good idea. Oi'll see if any o' me ship-mates be knowing the lyrics.

In the meantime, 'ere be a shanty inspired by Capn Harrison:

Something in the way He moves,
Attracts me like no other pasta.
Something in the way He noodles.
His Noodly appendage touch,
You know I believe so much.

Somewhere in my heart I know,
That I don't need no other meatball.
Something in His lush spaghetti.
His Noodly appendage touch,
You know I believe so much.

You're asking me will ID grow,
I don't know, I don't know.
You stick around now, it may show,
I don't know, I don't know.

Somewhere in the trees/mountain,
There is a midget eating pasta.
Something in the love of piracy.
His Noodly appendage touch,
You know I believe so much.

Arrr! Me cutlass be gently weeping... :fsm_cry:
Where we're from, the birds sing a pretty song, and there's always noodles in the air :fsm:

I promiced meself i wouldn't be doing stuff like this but the temptation was too great.. yaargh.

for full effect this should be sung in the tune of "When I'm 64"

Eating Spaghetti on a Friday night
With some meatballs too (doo be doo be doo)
I recieved a message from the FSM,
I ate my food - it appeared again!
After that, when I'd emptied my plate
More food would appear,
It's realy great, i'm telling you mate
The FSM is here.

It's no "Flying in the sky with meatballs" but it's the best I can do.

So, who will give us the Flying in the Sky with Meatballs?
I am terribly bad with contemporary stuff.

:fsm_yarr: Flying in the Sky with Meatballs :fsm_yarr:

Picture yourself with a plate of spaghetti,
Two holy meatballs sat neatly inside,
Lift up your fork and get ready for eating
The nicest spaghetti you'll find.
Mouthwatering flavours of noodles and sauce
Swirling around in your mouth,
Then take hold of a noodily appendage,
And you'll be...

Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh

Be like a pirate to stop global warming,
Get a new cutlass and an eye patch or two,
Shop for a peg leg swap your hand for a hook.
Everyone smiles as the earth gets much cooler,
Cos' ships are replacing the trucks.
Huge pirate ships appear on the shore,
Waiting to take you away,
Climb on the deck with your head in the clouds
And you'll be...

Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh

Picture yourself with a plate of spaghetti,
Two holy meatballs sat neatly inside,
Lift up your fork and get ready for eating
The nicest spaghetti you'll find.

Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh

Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Flying in the sky with meatballs!
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh

It sounds quite good if you sing along to the actual song.
