Help Zankou Design A Religion Title Page

Postby Zankou 2.0 on Fri Jan 30, 2009 8:54 pm

Hey folks.

I have a Religion class this semester, but if all goes well I plan to drop it and take it next year instead of a Grade 11 science, which I will take this semester in its place, lightening my work load.

The theme it must go with is "Christ and Culture". obviously, Christ has a mostly positive effect on culture, but there ARE negatives. I'd love to be able to turn in a negative yet appropriate title page for this course, as my mark in it won't matter so long as it is above a 50%, if I don't drop it anyway.

So, I'm making it a game, since I don't wanna do it. It's probably due Monday. I know there's a contingent of Graphic designers here, and I bet they'd have fun with this.

If not, I'll of course do it myself, but, this could be epic!

How about something revolving around the famous "Cowgirls from Hell", and how they saved the souls of mankind?

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

I don't think anyone would get it, as I don't either.

I would just make something up. You want something actually real? And not blood-and-guts stuff from the crusades? There's a really disgusting cannibalism thing in there somewhere...

Christ/Christianity spawned the culture of Pastafarianism as a response to the continual attempts of Christian Creationists to impose their views on the entire body of American public school students. Surely you could go with something like that?

The point of the game was so SOMEONE ELSE could do it. lmfao.

sorry. Brain cells mostly all killed off in the 1970's and 1980's. Only get occasional function, apparently tonight is not one of those times.

I don't suppose you want this one?

I did it a few months ago for a Friendly Atheist contest.

Or, this one has christianity and popular culture, both! (I didn't make this one, but I love it.)

I'm working on it... if it doesn't turn out well, I won't post it.

EDIT: What's the context? What is your whatsamajigger focusing on? It'd help a bunch.

You might as well, even if it doesn't.

I mean, if it turns out to be an unholy abomination before the FSM, then don't, but, otherwise, go for it.

Just find a random picture of a Palestinian man, and give it the caption "This is what Jesus really looked like."
"How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, 'This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed'? Instead they say, 'No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.'" - Carl Sagan

"To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection." - Henri Poincaré
