Hi all, one of your administrators here.
This comes up often, so hopefully this little note will help things: We are NOT linked to the discussion that goes on at the main site. The admins and moderators here have NO control over running that section, the rules we have here do NOT apply there (and vice versa), and there is in fact VERY LITTLE overlap in communities - most of the people who respond regularly to the hate mail and get into those debates are not participants in this forum.
What does this mean? A lot, actually. It means if you saw something there that pissed you off, we had nothing to do with it, probably haven't heard about it, and may not even care. It means that we are unaware of, and do not endorse, any of the ideas or opinions expressed over there. It means NONE of the preconceived notions that you get from those posts, whether good or bad, are necessarily applicable to the community here.
Please just keep that in mind when joining this community. Please don't ask us for tech support for that section, assume we know who you are if you've posted over there, or hold us responsible for the opinions expressed there. Please DO feel free to share something you've seen there if you're interested in the opinion of the people here on it, but don't be surprised if you get a wide variety of responses - we're a pretty diverse group.
Cheers!
Capellini
