One second season ep. I did like was called " The Child, and another one from first season called The BIg Goodbye was a great ep.

The Big Goodbye was fun, but it illustrates a basic repeating theme of many episodes of the newer series:
The Holodecks are nothing but trouble! Stay the heck off them! You'll be trapped, or addicted, or a character will become sentient and take over the ship, or an alien will take them over, or something! Shut the damn things down!

Scott Adams (Dilbert) has called holodecks the "last invention", because once they are created, humankind will go in and never come out. Nobody will have any reason to invent anything else ever again.

Is a Holodeck even worse than a pile of Tribbles then?

The scary part is, I can see that happening. A friend of mine raised an interesting question, though: if you are indulging in er, "pleasurable activities" in the holodeck, what happens to the natural results of that when you turn the power off? If there's a mess left over, that might be a deterrent.

The holodecks are effin' EVIL. If I ever see one, I'll never step foot in it.

Star Trek makes lots of interesting conversations in class. My teachers have taken a habit to glaring at me if we talk about anything to do with space, because they know that aliens are right around the corner, and I'm parked right there. :P The geeks adore me.
