If'n I need to be quiet, I use the Cutlass, but if'n I needs ta off 'em from a distance, a pistol or musket be just fine.

Yar....I meself be partial to a foine Kalashnikov with a pistol grip in me right, and an axe in me left. Not only good for choppin off limbs and such, but good for bashin in doors, casks, crates and chests.....

OH, and I also like grenades for deck sweepin.

Aye laddy 'oldin a cutlass an' a pistol be fine, but oi be knowin' many a swashbuckler that not be knowin' how t'wield a cutlass, they be only usin' muskets and such. By the rum in me veins thar ain't none of them swabbies on my crew.
