The Pirate Pope

John XXIII was a pirate during the early renaissance. He got in good with a powerful italian family (cough Godfather) and they supported him all the way from Pirate to pope. One of the first things he did was make the Medici family the official bankers for the papacy, which helped them rule for the next four generations. A pirate remembers his mates, after all.

As a side note, the pope is believed to have been an atheist.
I believe it's time for mankind to set aside the crutch of religion and embrace morality born of reason and truth. Those crutches have long since proven treacherous when the ground gets slippery.

Pirate pun!

That's possibly the most meta pun I've ever done.

And it rhymes.

YArrrrr...

Oi remembers that band in the 1660's that took drank too much of that Caribbean jungle juice. They started hallicinatin' and sayin over an over
'Number 9' 'Number 9' 'Number 9'. I kept thinkin it was me parrot.

Do Welsh Rarebit really wear hunderpants?

Bart, are ye sure you wern't there when those guys started drinkin that rubbish

A man without terrors from beard to false
As the headmaster reported to my son
He really can try, as they do, to find function...
Tell what he was saying, and his voice was low and his hive high
And his eyes were low...

YArrrr...sorry off topic - must be a first for these parts :fsm_yarr:

PS I'm feedin some of that stuff to me parrot to see what he says.
