I guess I was talking about younger people, not yet ready for life-long commitment. Though, sense of humor and chemistry are two absolute requirements at any age, IMO.

List of Parade-going items I have compiled:
Oversized Foreign Legion style hat for sun protection
Long sleeve button-up shirt, light in color, unbuttoned and untucked over a t-shirt for same reason
Large umbrella for same reason
Collapsible camping chair
Cane for walking around with after
Cloth bag in which to put the following:
    Energy drinks
    Lemonade
    Cigarettes
    Lighter
    Book
    Snacks
    Gum
