It's Official: We've Upgraded!

While there is already a thread discussing the new phpbb3 update, this is the official anouncement.

There are a lot of new features, but in your zeal to explore them, don't forget that board rules have not changed one iota. We would like you to RESPONSIBLY use the 'report' function to notify mods of problematic or questionable material. But ANYONE who uses this feature in an irresponsible fashion will be summarily banned. It is NOT a toy, if you treat it as such, it will be your last action as a member of this community.

The User Control Panel (UCP) has some new features as well. You can now bookmark threads, and pm multiple people as well as forward pms. You can also add "friends" and "foes". All this really does is highlight the posts of friends and ignore those of foes, and no, you can't ignore moderators or administrators. Sorry.

You can also save your posts as drafts for later editing, and subscribe to forums or threads. There is a difference between bookmarking and subscribing. You will receive notifications of new posts to subscribed sections, bookmarks are just quick links for easy access.

Other than that, the changes are primarily aesthetic (get over it) and administrative. But there is no chance of rolling back, I have already offered Bobby either my first born or a kidney as a thank you for this update, so get used to it because it is here to stay.

Anyone who doesn't like the format, go to your UCP/Board Preferences and change your style to subsilver 2, it closely resembles the old format.
