Origins of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes. (15th time, I think.).
This is a three-day book, most are 3 a day or 2 a day books.
Last one was "Predator" by Patricia Cornwell.
Before that was "The Ancestor's Tale" by Richard Dawkins. That's another three-day book! Tis site has me doing my 'mental gym work'.

Let me know if you ever finish it. I own a copy, and I haven't ever.
I personally know of 47 people (we're keeping track) who've tried and failed to finish it.

I've read it all about 5 times. But I never read it all in sequential order. I jump around a lot. The first time through I remember I started reading just the dialogues somewhere in the middle and read them all first, then went back and read the chapters.

Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecure, Martin Fowler. It's the programmer's bible, the kind of book you're constantly dipping into.

For light relief (!) I just finished "Stalingrad" and "Berlin" by Anthony Beevor.

One of my most treasured beliefs is dead!
I even believed the publisher's editors had not read the whole thing, but broken it up between several of them, just like the proof readers!
I even believed Douglas Hofstadter actually had Multiple Personality Disorder, and he hadn't read it all in any one Personality!

It's reading it in order that's so hard. Just jump around more and you can get to it all. The dialogues are my favorite parts, anyway. The chapters only exist to fully explicate the dialogues.

I doubt I've found all the clever hidden codes and surprises, though. Each time I read it I notice something new. Did you find the true end of the book that he demarcates somewhere in the middle? That was a sweet find! He did sort of strongly hint that the search for it was guaranteed to terminate.

The Metamagical Themas book is more fun, even, if not about as profound or important stuff, in general. Have you read that one? The self-referential sentences are delicious.
