How Drunk Thou Art

I have documents proving that, once again, the unbelievers have "borrowed" an old Pastafarian hymn and adjusted it to fit their own beliefs. Here are the original lyrics to "How Drunk Thou Art", which was rewritten by Carl Gustav Boberg in 1885 and claimed as his own. If you're not familiar with the melody, a MIDI of one verse and one refrain can be found on this page, to the right of Mr. Boberg's portrait. The rhythm in the MIDI is not exactly the same as I remember it from my Catholic church-going days, but it's close enough.

* Verse 1:

O FSM! When I think of the notion
That all I see was by Thy Noodles made,
I see the stars, I hear the mighty ocean,
Thy pow'r through-out the universe displayed.

* Refrain 1:

Then sings my soul, my Noodly Lord, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Noodly Lord, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

* Verse 2:

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
Or see a midgit rise up to my knees;

* Repeat Refrain 1

* Verse 3:

But when I think that Thy near-constant drinking
Allows such pain and suff'ring to occur;
That Thy piratic people so free-thinking,
Are so restrained, and held upon the shore;

* Refrain 2:

Then cries my soul, my Noodly Lord, to Thee;
How drunk Thou art, how drunk Thou art!
Then cries my soul, my Noodly Lord, to Thee:
How drunk Thou art, how drunk Thou art!

* Verse 4:

But still I know that when my life has ended,
Thy Beer Volcano shall content my heart!
By Thy strippers, my lust may be attended!
Thus I proclaim, Ramen! How great Thou art!

* Refrain 3:

Then sings my soul, my Noodly Lord, to Thee;
How drunk Thou art, yet great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Noodly Lord, to Thee:
How drunk Thou art, yet great Thou art!
