UPDATE- London meetup WILL be on pirate ship- it is booked!!

Postby Henny Penne the Fierce on Tue May 01, 2007 1:54 pm

Ahoy me hearties!

Just a few updates on the meetup in London-

First, it's only going to be one day- Saturday the 12th of May.

Second, the pirate ship is booked- the Golden Hinde near the Thames. Check out the photos on google photos. Isn't she a beaut???

The filming will take place on the ship during our time slot of half 12 to 3. You are welcome to dress as pirates, preferably with dead parrot on your shoulder, yo ho ho with a bottle of rum, hoist the main sail, and generally Yaarrgggh to your heart's content. This is going to be so cool, because, and correct me if I am wrong, this would be the first FSM meetup on a pirate ship.

Third, the presenter present will be Robin Banks, from Mythbusters and Bravado.

After our time at the Golden Hinde, everyone is free to proceed to the nearest pub, or do whatever they want. Anyone know of a piratey pub nearby SE1 9DE?

Please, any concerns or questions at all, and if you can come, just send me a private message!!!

RAmen. :fsm_yarr:

A real pirate ship! That's much better than my imaginary one (although the Lady Marmalade is still a fine vessel).

Still debating whether to come down. I'll need a special outfit.

Sorry for exploding and getting the thread messy...

and yes you DO need an outfit! And you DO need to come down!

However, my boyfriend won't be as he needs to buy a costume for the party we're going to in the evening (i'm going to be very dead by the end of this day...)

My friends still have there pirate gear they bought for my pirate pub crawl in London for my 18th and they want to come too, they're into FSM but don't post here... 'cause... they're got loads of friends elsewhere i'm guessing

Anymawhoooo I tried on my waspie today and I still make a rocking pirate, woop!

For my interview with the BBC I just wore a priestly black suit. I was trying to emulate those oh-so-convincing ID experts that crop up on TV by trying to appear serious and sensible.

As it is not a Friday and regalia is not mandatory so I might just try and find a good hat and eye-patch.

Piratastic! I had a great outfit but it sort of got a bit messed up at my Halloween party. I suppose I could wear my viking gear (my Christmas Party) but that might complicate the whole thing.

That would be a bit odd... just get a waist coat, maybe some boots and a hat, you'll be fine

i have a spare sword somewhere... possibly another parrot...

My fridge had a post it note on the inside that said property of...something. But it fell into a pot of humous and I can't remember what it said. Some fiendish word domination scheme I think.

At a pirate themed pub crawl last halloween a guy turned up dressed as a giant CD. Brilliant in my opinion.
