Pasta and antepasta

Postby arthurchappell on Sat Apr 14, 2007 7:47 am

There is such a food as ante-pasta - is this like Anti-matter - dare you mix pasta and ante-pasta? Will it blow up your kitchen?

I like the idea of an edible God - Jesus fed himself to his followers at the last supper but only symbolically - we actually get to eat Spaghetti, tinned, fresh, in strings, hoops and even as alphabetti spagetthi.
If people ask me for proof about my God I can show them the stains on my shirt to prove he exists.

Interestingly, like all Gods, the FSM has a mysterious origin - no one knows whether Marco Polo first imported Pasta from the east in to europe or not. Marco Polo Mint may well be the first true western pirate to promote the church. I might open another tin of God later today now. Arthur Chappell

It's actually called 'antipasto' & is the Italian equivalent of hors d'oeuvres.

Sorry to spoil your fun.

Yet, in accordance with the original statement would not it be socially unacceptable in Italian dinning circles to mix ones antipasto with the pasta itself, like for us combinging our main course with dessert. surely such a combination would cause a great deal of havoc and mayhem?
