Well, there are often different phonetics- for example, "f" is often replaced by "ph", or p|-|
Besides, like I said, there are many different forms of leet.
There's Ancient Leet, Proto-l33t, Modern l337, and nex-gen 1337.
Here's an example:
English- I own you, newb!
Ancient leet- I pwn y0u, n00b!!!!!!!!
Proto-l33t- I p\/\//\/ j00, n00b!!1!!1111!!
Modern l337- 3y3 p|/\||\| j00, |\|00b!!!!11!!1oneoneone!!!!1one!!!!eleven!!!
