Witam wszystkich!
Jestem kolejnym Polakiem, ktory odkryl potege wiary w Jego Makaronowatosc.
Moze by taka strone utworzyc?

Pozdrawiam serdecznie!

What trip? :-)

Now i still triping and traveling - becouse i working here as a Huge Goods Vehicle Driver.

From Poland to Edinburgh i was hitch-hiking (57 hrs, due to 12 hrs total in trafic jams near magdeburg, antwerpie and liverpool).

In Edinburgh was no jobs for HGV drivers, so i moved to Glasgow (more industrial City)...

I hope in two months bring my comp here and get internet connection at home, so will be looking here more again ;-)

Give greets for non-polish part of forum from me ;-)

Oh, you from USA don't understand many things ;-)

But: in great shortcut: from one side, I have catholics on power, and live for pastafarians or even atheist will be much difficult. Just check the last news from Poland...

Second: Army. National Service. They trying to change constitution and still keep national service, what more, improve it to every mans from 19 to 60 and ban alternative service for pacifist etc. And i don't want go to army and fighting in Iraq for Your cheap fuel only becouse polish goverment still licking american ass and still believe, like some moron, that You, americans, will deliver to us what you promised. Even if they dont change the constitution, army still needs me, and I will not go there - even if that will be means, that I'm outlawed in my own country.

Third: Finances. I earning as a driver in driving agency (very poor money as for Scotland) polish teacher's montly salary in three days. So what's the point to be teacher in Poland?

Fourth: I will to become a journalist. What is better way to know the world that live in different countries for few years?

Five: My own, personal reasons.

Enaugh? ;-)

Each one sufficient.
Maybe we should invade Poland again to put an end to this (could we be greeted as liberators?)

You don't need to attack our country again, if you just pay for everything, what you destroyed in 1939-1945 will be enaugh. We will be very rich and happy country then ;-)

Don't be angry for me, i know that some americans has even been abroad ;-)

Numbers one, two and three I am well aware of. I am more than marginally conversant with European struggles and politial issues.

So you know this and still don't understand why people escaping from Poland? :-)

Number four...knowing that, I can see about getting you information about a work-study situation is an American university for a program that would allow you to earn a decent wage, take classes toward a Master's degree in journalism, and TA (teacher's assistant) for classes in your areas of expertise--Polish language or undergraduate journalism, if you're degreed in journalism as well as education.

I think that journalism is one of thew last jobs, where your life-experience can prepare you to do this job even better then university studies...

Hello Orys!

Would you be interested in a little language game we are discussing currently?

It would consist of a number of people, each knowing at least one foreign language reasonably well. Each would prepare three short (10 lines max) texts (a common text, a piece of lyrics, a semantically sensitive text [e.g. from a tech manual or some legalese]) and sent it to the designated next in line who would try to translate it and sent the translation (but not the original) forth to the next until it reaches the original sender again.
Alpaca knows Polish, so with you we would have a necessary pair.
The greater the number of languages used the more interesting the distortions should be. :D

There is no need to hurry
